August 2013 Group alumnus Dr. Abdullah Demir gives a Physics seminar presentation entitled "Recent Developments on High Power Semiconductor Lasers at JDSU" on August 1, 2013 Thursday. Dr. Demir received his BS in Physics and MS in Computational Science and Engineering from Koç University in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He received his MS and PhD in Optics from the College of Optics and Photonics, University of Central Florida in 2010 working with the Semiconductor Laser Group on quantum dot lasers and vertical cavity surface emitting lasers. Currently, he is working on high power semiconductor laser chips as research and development scientist at JDSU Corporation in San Jose, California.
